Other acne types:

  • Acne excoriee- this type of acne mostly affects young women. Primary causative agents are psychological or emotional stress. Typical lesions involve scratch marks and scars.
  • Acne mechanica- rashes appear due to constant contact with contaminated surface. Examples include rashes on forehead induced by wearing a helmet, rashes on chin because of leaning face on hands etc. It can also be called „sports induced acne“ because it is often caused by heat and pressure applied on the forehead when wearing a helmet or other sportswear.
  • Cystic acne- severe form of acne whose typical rash include multiple and painful cysts. Conglobate acne- it is very severe cystic acne, which is characterized by confluent inflammatory nodules, cysts, even abscesses. Torso is usually affected. Treatment must be started as soon as possible because this type of acne heals in scars.
  • Chloracne- acne caused by chlorinated water, pesticides.
  • Cosmetic acne- acne caused by comedogenic skin care products.

Each form of acne can affect different parts of the body, so medically speaking there is no acne form like back acne or facial acne, neck acne or body acne.

Acne on the back

Although back acne is not a separate form of acne, this condition deserves some closer investigation. When treating back acne, body hygiene is the key element of achieving success. It is important to improve it: shower after sweating, wash clothes regularly, do not touch the pimples. In order to avoid back acne scars it is important to treat pimples with proper cosmetic products, which should be prescribed by a specialist.

Acne on face

Acne often affects face. Each form of acne (acne vulgaris, mild acne, moderate acne, cystic acne, acne conglobata, and mechanic acne) can manifest on face. The treatment of facial acne is the same as of other areas, and depends on the acne form and the severity of the disease.
