Atopic dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis

So what is atopic dermatitis? It is a type of chronic eczematous skin disease. Atopic dermatitis in adults is not as common as in infants and young children. This form of dermatitis often attacks infants. The disease can also affect adults. It isn‘t easy to diagnoze the disease in adults. Some studies showed that disease is more frequent in women and the link between the atopic dermatitis and imunoglobulin E levels. So atopic dermatitis could be described as one of many autoimmune conditions.

A similar condition to atopic dermatitis is called atopic allergy. It is an inherited condition, which results in hipersensitivity to external stimulus (for example, allergens). Atopic allergy is a term that can also be used when describing bronchial asthma, so it is not limited to dermatological diseases. Dermatitis atopic is also a medical condition. It belongs to atopic disease family and results in rashes and lessions caused by external and internal stimulus which patient‘s body perceives as alien. So it is a hard to diagnose skin condition. It also belongs to atopic allergies family, but is only one form of them.

Atopic dermatitis eczema is one form of all the others that atopic dermatitis can cause. Atopic dermatitis causes and atopic eczema causes can be very different, because this disease is caused not by a specific substance but by abnormal body reaction to it. So the real cause of atopic dermatitis remains unknown. Atopic eczema treatment depends on patient‘s condition. Some glucocorticoids could be helpful in one case and do harm in another. Sometimes biologic drugs are prescribed (but only in very severe cases). And sometimes natural medicine is used to calm patient‘s nervous system in order to treat this skin condition. Atopic dermatitis symptoms include rashes and lesions which are hard to differenciate from other skin conditions, so it is very important to speak with the patient carefully when asking about his disease and what caused the beggining of it. Eczema can also be a symptom of atopic dermatitis. Atopic eczema cure depends on the specific situation and specific case of each patient. Natural treatment can be used to treat atopic eczema.

Atopic eczema in adults can manifest in various age, but is more common in early adulthood and midlife. The disease can manifest in a baby as well. Treatment of atopic dermatitis in case like this must be urgent. Atopic dermatitis in children is a quite common condition that requires furter observation and urgent treatment.
